How to make props.

Remember, you are just looking at techniques. You are not supposed to make the items shown below.

Use the techniques to design and build something appropriate for the theme you chose. For example,

the helmet design could inspire you to make a more effective football helmet.

Links about techniques you can use to make props.

cardboard props

boat
helmet
automaton
pepakura
wings
arm
dome
toilet paper roll crafts

wire

Remember you can use this technique to make things other than masks.

papier mache

Remember, you don't need chickenwire to make the base - you can use balloons, boxes, cheap coathangersf

felt

You can make all sorts of things from felt and fabric. DON'T buy the patterns, just look for ideas.

Sewing Help Not mentioned in the video - if you are making a piece of clothing or a bag, put the right sides
together (inside) when sewing running stitch (with the wrong side showing), iron the seams flat if you can,
and turn inside out for use, so the right sides are showing. If you are making something with felt
(or something that doesn't fray), like a puppet, sew it using blanket stitch with the right sides showing.

Make Fabric and Fiber Inventions (pdf book)

Make Paper Inventions (pdf book)

Let me know if there are other instructions you want.

If you do this project properly, it may take longer than this week.
