The Turing Test

Alan M. Turing was a British scientist who was very involved in code-breaking activities during World War II. He was one of the fathers of computing.

He was interested in the problem of whether machines (robots) could be considered intelligent, and proposed the Turing Test:

"a human judge has an on-line conversation with two others, one a human and the other a machine; if the judge can't tell which is which, then the machine is said to pass the test. It is assumed that both the humans and the machine try to appear human. "

Here is a video about the Turing Test.

In the meantime, look at this robot - although this is quite an old video, she is really good at behaving in a human way.

On your Word document:

Question 16: Describe the Turing test in your own words.

So after all this, what is Artificial Intelligence?

Here is a technical description !
